Download M4A and save it to Files. In GarageBand on your iPhone, open an Audio Recorder project, switch to Tracks, and use the Loops browser’s Files tab to import the clip. M4R is also available for compatible tone-transfer workflows; downloading it alone does not install it. Do not assume every iOS version has the same sharing options.

Long source recordings use memory even when you only keep a short clip. Browser and device resources affect decoding and export; there is no promise of unlimited file size. Keep the original and download your result before leaving.
Protected streaming tracks cannot be treated as ordinary audio files. Start with a recording or supported file you can open. Creating a ringtone file does not install it or change your phone settings.
