What Audio Normalization Does Not Fix

Normalization changes delivery level. It does not repair clipping, noise, uneven editing, or a poorly balanced mix.

Existing clipping

Lowering a clipped recording cannot reconstruct peaks that were already distorted in the source.

Uneven passages

One normalization pass does not automatically balance individual words, speakers, instruments, or sections inside the file.

Mix and mastering problems

Use EQ, compression, limiting, noise repair, or mastering tools when the audio needs more than an overall level adjustment.
